Royal Jordanian (RJ) was established in 1963 as the national air carrier of Jordan, with the aim of contributing to developing services, creating better ties with the world, promoting interaction with other cultures, and establishing relations with other nations. Royal Jordanian headquarter is located in the heart of the capital, Amman, and its flights are operated from Queen Alia International Airport. Its modern fleet of 26 aircraft covers 54 destinations in four continents.
The RJ fleet includes: Airbus A310, A320, A321, A340, A319, Fokker 28 and Embraer 195 aircraft while 2 Embraer175s will join the fleet this year. 12 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will join the fleet between 2010 and 2014 in light of ithe company’s strategic plan for long-haul aircraft modernization.

RJ employs 4,100 people in Jordan and at its outstations around the world.


In view of its reputation and international level of competitiveness, Royal Jordanian was invited to join the oneworld airline alliance. The airline officially joined the alliance on April 1, 2007, after it completed all technical and technological requirements to become part of the grouping. RJ's membership in the oneworld airline alliance has broadened its route network, from 54 to more than 700 international destinations, served by the alliance's members.
